memphis trip

If you've kept up with our blog for a while then you know that we lived in Memphis for four years and that we met some absolutely wonderful people while there.  The friends that we met through dental school have become more like family.  We love that these people have become some of our best buds!  We headed to Memphis a few weekends ago for Trav to attend his ortho class.  The kiddos and I tagged along because we wanted to visit our friends.  We had such a good time just playing and hanging out.  We love these people!

{memphis zoo is a must while in town. such an awesome zoo.}

{walking through the zoo sure is hard work}

{these girls.}

{asher loved seeing the 'dragon warrior'.  if you have a boy then you probably know who i'm talking about.}

{taking a break to rest and get yummy treats.}

{asher loves riding carousals, maeve is getting there.}

{our best attempt at a group photo}

{you cannot see sweet jack because of my big head.  the train ride was probably asher's favorite thing.}

{maeve was obsessed with 'baby baby' jack!  she wanted to touch him, kiss him, shove his paci in his mouth, hold him, etc.  she loved him!}

{we spent most of saturday indoors playing at the puryears.  i love that julie and i can sit on the couch and chit chat for hours while our kiddos play.}

{i posted more about her little party on her birthday post but this picture was too sweet not to share again.  we really do have the sweetest friends!}

wives club weekend in nashville

Dental school brought some wonderful friends into my life.  Without these girls, dental school would've been a lot harder and a lot less fun!  We've done pretty good at making plans to get together since graduation.  But we normally are with our families.  This was our first trip with just us.  No husbands.  No children.  It was perfect.  We met in the middle, Nashville, early Saturday and stayed until late Sunday morning.  The weekend was full of shopping, Mommy drinks at noon, laying on hotel beds laughing like teenagers, serious talks about life and just much needed Mommy time away.

{lunch at Rippy's BBQ}

{Dinner at Pub 5}

{After dinner drinks at the Big Bang Piano Bar.}

{Puckett's for breakfast.}

Thankful to be going through Mommy-life with friends like this.  Cannot wait until our next trip!

we went back to Memphis

We went back to Memphis this past weekend.  We have been missing our friends terribly and really wanted/needed some Puryear and Trammell time.  We headed out Friday evening and got to the Puryears around 11:00 est.  We were all pooped, well except Asher.  He was ready to party.  We let him run around their house for a little bit before finally getting him to finally lay down and go to sleep sometime after midnight.

The next morning after eating a yummy breakfast made by Julie we hung out on the couch and let the kiddos play.  Just sitting there in our pjs talking, laughing and watching our kids play was just what I needed.  Around noon we headed over to the Trammell's to celebrate Aven turning three.

Happy Happy Birthday girlfriend!!

Two pretty princesses.  I cannot wait for Maeve to be running around in a princess gown with these two.

I love this picture because it's right after Tucker and Maeve met each other.  Sister looks pretty excited about it.

The first three.

After the party we headed back to the Puryears to rest and nap.

Aven later showed up in her Elsa outfit from Asher and Maeve.

This picture is so funny to me because it clearly shows the difference between boys and girls, without even trying to.  Aven and Kate just sat on the blanket and played, ate snacks and blew bubbles.  They even said "cheese" for a few pictures.  Asher… no he's off running wild trying to climb a tree or put a rock in his mouth.  Tucker's still young, give him time.

Two of the chunkiest little monkeys I know.

The next morning we played and played some more.

We decided to walk to the little park beside our old house.  And I also wanted to take a picture in front of our very first house.  I'll love that house forever because we became a family there.

1193 Misty Isle Drive.  I sure do love you.

And just for fun, here's our last picture in front of our Memphis house before moving East.  Wow, we've aged!

On our way out of Memphis we all went to eat lunch.  I hated saying goodbye to these people.  I'm proud of us for staying so close and keeping to our promise of seeing each other often after dental school.

We had such a good weekend.  It was laid back, no real plans, babies everywhere and constant laughter.  It made my heart extremely happy!!  Thanks Julie, Charles and Kate for letting us have a slumber party, eat your snacks and drink your drinks!

playdate with kate

Over Christmas break, the Puryears came to visit.  Asher and Kate had not seen each other since this summer.  I was anxious to see how they would act towards each other.  Needless to say, these two were pretty excited to see each other.  Julie and I kept taking pictures and laughing at these two because they were so cute and funny together.

For most of the time, these two were inseparable.  Whatever Kate did, Asher did.

Asher got put in timeout, for a reason I cannot remember, but sweet Kate didn't want him sitting alone.  She went and joined him.

Kate showing Asher how to suck your two fingers.

They look like teenagers in this picture.

We were so sad when our friends had to leave.  We told them to hug, kiss and say goodbye.  Asher wasn't shy and went in for a kiss right on the lips.

Thanks friends for coming and playing with us.  We had so much fun!  Now hurry up and move closer so we can play more often.
