all in a days work

On Sunday we officially stopped drinking milk from a bottle at all three feedings (breakfast, lunch and bedtime) and switched from our diaper bag to our big boy backpack!  I feel like Asher aged 10 years over the weekend.

Asher is a pretty "go with the flow" type of child, which I'm so very grateful for.  {He is really good with change for a 14 month old.}  He doesn't mind what he's drinking or where it's coming from but the bottle drop didn't happen over night.  He's been using a sippy with juice since about 7 months.  The past few months I introduced him to the straw, which he loves.  Until this weekend, he always had milk in a bottle and juice in some type of sippy.  We let him get really comfortable with the sippy cup before completely changing over.

I've had his diaper bag from day 1 and I've loved it.  But I no longer need all of those pockets or such a big bag.  I looked and looked and looked for the perfect backpack for my dude.  I wanted something boyish but not too tough and something that still says, "I'm just a little man."  I found Paige Holliday Designs on Etsy and quickly contacted her.  I picked out all three fabrics and where they would be, the color and font for his name and added a cup pocket on the outside.  She was wonderful to work with and I actually received my backpack earlier than planned.  Score!

Doesn't he look so grown up carrying his new backpack?

14 months

Asher Man, you are 14 months old!!  Hip hip hooray!

You are the happiest kid on the block but are starting to get upset when you don't get your way.  You are a little monkey sometimes.

You love playing and being around other babies.  You laugh and smile whenever you are around little ones.
You had a rough time for a few weeks being left in the church nursery but now you are back to loving it.  You cling to us a little tight but are completely fine within 2 minutes.

You have been a rock star for Mommy while she's been feeling sick.
You are sometimes a little cuddle bug.
You give Mommy the world's best hugs.  They are hugs only for Me!!

Now that you're a full-time walker, you fall and get bruises all the time.   You nearly give me a heart attack every day.
You love love being able to walk.  You love this new freedom.
You know how to open all of our bedroom/bathroom doors.
You know which room is yours and how to get inside within 5 seconds flat.

You love sneaking off to your room to play with Daddy.  Mommy finds the two of you like this a lot.  You only sit and watch PBS Kids on the iPad with Daddy.  You won't do it with Mommy.

You are quiet the explorer.  You love opening up every door and drawer.  You understand things that are a "no" and you are a pretty good listener for a 14 month old.  Mommy's very proud.

You get messy sometimes with dinner and have to be stripped down.  You are starting to get a little picky when it comes to food.  You used to shovel anything and everything but now not so much.  If you don't like something you take it right out of your mouth and put it back on the tray.

You are so silly and have several tricks!  You love love love to say "uh-oh" you say that 1 billion times a day.  No lie.  Mommy is often woken up in the mornings by hearing "uh-oh" come through the monitor.  You throw both pacies over and say "uh-oh" over and over.
You say "bye bye" and wave.  Your wave is backwards but it's still a wave none the less.
You just started saying "muma"!!  Yay!!! Finally you say my name.  You don't always know that it means Me but you do say it and Mommy loves it.  You still give high fives and say "touchdown!"

You are the cutest thing I've ever seen!!  You look just like your Daddy. {Just the other day somebody said that you look like your Mommy!! First time for everything.}

You love to play with your dentist kit and are the coolest Dr. around.
You need a hair cut badly!!  Your hair is out of control.
I try and trim your bangs but it's not an easy task.  Not sure what we are going to do with it..

You are still an amazing sleeper at night.  You are in bed every night by 8:00 (give or take a few minutes).  You go straight to sleep and don't make a peep until the morning.  For the past few months, ever since the stupid time change, you've been waking up anywhere between 7:30-8:30.
You still take 1 good nap a day.  It last about 2 hours and then you normally take a late afternoon nap that lasts anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.
You never fight your first nap, you go straight down.  Mommy takes you in your room, lays you down with kiss and you go right to sleep.  You sometimes fight your second nap.  You once fell asleep while sitting up.  You fought a good fight but just couldn't make it..

You love to play and laugh.  You makes us laugh every single day just being you!

You miss the outdoors terribly and cannot wait for spring!  You love taking advantage of random warm days and going for a walk.  Your stroller is one of your BFFs.

You love your play area.  You will sit in there and play for an hour or more.  But once you're over it you try to find ways to escape..

You are 100% BOY.

Thank you for being you and being so perfect.  We love you!!

then there were 4

We are so excited to share our news!!

Doesn't Asher look so excited to be a big brother?  He was exhausted in this picture and smiling wasn't an option.  But he really is excited, he tells me everyday.  =)

Baby #2 is due in August.  The actual due date is my Mom's birthday, August 30.  Hope GJ doesn't mind to share her day.  We are a little over 12 weeks along.  These past few weeks have been pretty rough.  This little love is trying to kill me, I swear.  I'm having to get used to feeling terrible and still taking care of our wild man.  It's been an adventure so far.  I finally started feeling better this past weekend.  Sunday was my first day in about 1-2 weeks not feeling nauseous 24 hours a day.  I'm hoping I'm over the hump, fingers crossed.

We are so thankful that God has blessed us with another baby growing inside my belly.  We cannot wait to meet him/her and become Sisco Party of 4.  We are thrilled that our kiddos will be so close in age.  Asher will be 20 months when this one comes along.  I go back and forth between wanting a boy or a girl.  The thought of having two boys close in age makes my heart smile.  I know they would be the best of friends and forever have a partner in crime.  Then I think about having a girl and a huge smile covers my face.  I'm not super super girly but I love to do girly things and I'd love someone to do girly things with.  We will have to wait and see!!

Happy am I!

Picking out your child's name is an incredibly hard task.  Before we knew that Asher was a boy, we went back and forth between names.  It wasn't until Travis was reading in his Bible and stumbled across Asher that we knew that would be our boy name.

I remember reading this verse..  "Then Leah said, "Happy am I!  For women will call me happy." So she named him Asher."  The name Asher literally means happy.  Who wouldn't want their child's name to be all about happiness?

We had no idea while he was in my big ol' belly that he was going to be such a happy little boy.  We've said ever since he was born that he's been one of the happiest babies ever.  Everyone he meets says how happy he is.  Isn't God amazing?  He picked the name Asher.  He made Asher.  He is the reason my son is so happy.  God is crazy amazing and always working behind the scenes, even when it comes to picking a name.

13 months (really really late!)

Wild man.  You are now 13.5 months old.  How is that real??  This by far is my favorite age.  I feel like each stage gets better and better.

You love coming into Mommy and Daddy's bed every Saturday morning and snuggling with us.  Well, I don't know if snuggle is the right word.  You roll around, flip, toss, laugh and pounce.

You are now facing forward in your car seat!!  Yippee!!  You've always loved the car but looking out the front window makes is so much more fun!!

Your personality gets sweeter and crazier by the day.  You make me laugh all day long.

You LOVE your cousins, Josie and Charlie.  They are your BFFs.  You and Josie hug and love all over each other.  Charlie is going to be your partner in crime very soon.

Great news!!  You and Reecie are finally on speaking terms.  You both actually pay attention to each other now and kinda play together.  It only took Reecie Girl an entire year but she's finally came around!  She makes you laugh, laugh, laugh.

You love books.  You are always searching for the best one.  It's normally at the bottom of the pile, of course.

You are obsessed with opening doors and turning on the water.  You have figured out how to open most doors and can make your way into almost any room.  Dangerous.  You love opening the door to Mommy and Daddy's bathroom and turning on the bath tub water.

Once you open your door and get inside your room.  You always head straight to your humidifier and take off the lid.  You then love putting it on your head as a hat or putting it on Mommy or Daddy's head.

You tested out homemade paint on a snowy day this month.  You didn't get any on the paper but plenty on yourself!

You are finally enjoying your huge tunnel and tent from Miss Susie.  You love it.  You love chasing Papaw through it.

You are still my best shopping buddy but it makes you very sleepy..

You are spoiled rotten.  You love sitting on Mommy's lap, watching Bruno Mars (who you love) and getting your back scratched.  Spoiled.

You love slumber parties at GJ and Papaw's.  Especially when Reecie goes, too.

You are a full-time walker these days.  You go anywhere and everywhere.  Look out world.

You still love putting your bucket on your head.  No idea why.  But you do it every single day.  Silly silly kid you are.

Now that you're walking, you get lots of bumps and bruises.

Peek-a-boo is one of your favorite games.

You have your own cell phone at GJ and Papaw's and you love texting your peeps.

You are still one of Mommy's most favorite people!!
