19 weeks...

Our 19th week has been the best week by far! It start
ed last Thursday and I felt my first little baby kick the Friday before!! Feeling the baby kick for the first time was a little extra special because it was also our 5th wedding anniversary.

We also learned that we are having a sweet baby boy during our 19th week. Like I said, it's been the best week by far.

I'm feeling better and haven't been sick in a while. Yeah! Sleep is getting a little bit better but I'm finding it hard to make it through the day without a nap. Not sure what I am going to do when I go back to school tomorrow, yikes!! I might have to crawl up in my bean bags at school and catch some zzzzs for a few minutes.

We are thankful for a wonderful wonderful week!!

Here's what he looks like today:
About 11 ounces and 6 inches from head to toe.

Happy 19 weeks!

meet our little man..

We went in Thursday morning for our ultrasound to check out the baby, make sure everything is healthy and to determine whether Baby Sisco is a boy or girl.

The ultrasound tech was great and was telling us about everything that we were looking at. We saw all 4 chambers of the heart, the brain, bladder, ribs, spine, kidneys, all 4 arms and legs, eyes, nose, mouth, little bitty ears, toes, fingers and the list goes on and on.

After she made sure that everything looked "normal", she said "now, let's look in between the legs!" At this point, I really didn't care. All I needed to know was that everything looked healthy! So after about 20 plus minutes of checking out everything, literally everything we learned that our little love is our little MAN. It took her a few minutes to really make sure that he was a "he". He wouldn't sit still long enough for us to get a good look.

I drank some sweet tea on the way to the doctor, I wanted to make sure that the baby was active and that we would be able to see everything and find out the sex. Well, our little man loves him so sweet tea. He was moving and kicking like crazy!! Now I know without a doubt that the little flutters I've been feeling in my belly are definitely him.

After all of that, she started recording and just let him move around for us to watch and enjoy. He was movin' and groovin'. We quickly learned about his personality. While watching him, he showed us his muscles, scratched his head, moved his mouth up and down (she said he was drinking fluids) and had his little ankles crossed. Watching him was truly the most amazing thing I've ever seen. Watching my little boy move around and do things so human-like while inside of me is indescribable. I know, I know he is clearly human but it's crazy how little he is but how he already has his own sweet personality.

My parents came into town the day before and went with us to our appointment. They came into the room at the very end of the appointment. We didn't tell them anything and let them look at him move around and guess what they thought he was. After a few minutes of looking, my mom saw a little something and said, "Oh! That's a boy!!" Her eyes quickly filled with tears. You never want to see your parents cry but when it's for such a good good thing it makes your heart smile! I'm so glad that they came to the doctor and got to meet our little man.

Here he is....

Asher Riley Sisco
(all 11 ounces of him)

See him scratching his head? So precious.

The meaning behind his name:

Asher: We wanted something different and unique but not too crazy. We had talked about many different names and thought we were settled on one. Then we came across Asher and that stole our hearts. Travis was reading his Bible and mentioned that he really liked that name. Asher means fortunate, blessed, happy. He makes us feel all of those things.

Riley: We wanted a family name. We had several we liked from both of our sides but one really flowed with Asher. My great grandfather Hatfield's middle name was Riley. We put the two names together and we think they fit perfectly.

Two thumbs up for our little man!

My Mom is crazy and is making a "B". B is for BOY!!
(The teacher in both of us came out!)

Asher's Papaw! I'm saying, "he's just a little bitty thing!"

That night, after telling all our family and friends who live oh so far away from us we had our Memphis Family come over to celebrate. When they arrived, they didn't know boy or girl. They each kinda came over at different times. They came as soon as they got off work/out of school. It was fun because we got to do lots of surprises!! Whenever they walked in, we had them close their eyes and then I placed a piece of clothing in their hands. When they opened their eyes and saw the blue and "Mommy's Big Guy" words they quickly knew. It was so fun!!!

These girls are so great. Asher is lucky to have so many "aunts" that love him. He is also going to have two girlfriends to choose from Aven and Kate. wink.wink.

Courtney, Aven, Me, Lauren (Aven's Momma) and Julie with Kate!!

They surprised us with cupcakes. They brought both blue and pink! Thank you Adonia Kennedy for making these delicious cupcakes. If you are in the Memphis area and are in need of some yummy sweets contact her here.

Team BLUE.

Thank you friends for being part of our special day.

Asher's Papaw, GJ and sister Reecie!

He already has clothes!! His Aunt Summer, we haven't come up with a name for her yet, sent me a picture of these tops that she got for him! Sum is going to be the best aunt a boy could ask for!! She loves him so much already and it makes my heart smile hearing her talk about him. She was the first person I called when I learned that I was having a boy!! I cannot wait to see Asher and Charlie together. They are going to be best buddies! I'm sure little Miss Josie won't mind having two boys to boss around.

More clothes.

Our friends brought over two different outfits. When they learned it was a boy, they gave us the outfit on the left!! Isn't it super cute? He will need the warm clothes since he's due December 22. The middle outfit I bought for Travis. It says "daddy's little buddy". And the last outfit was for me! It says, "mommy's big guy".

Wait, I need to correct myself. I didn't buy those two outfits, GJ and Papaw did!! =) After the appointment, we went straight to Babies R Us.

We want to thank everyone for their prayers and sweet words. We are so lucky to have so many great people in our lives.

18 weeks

We are in the middle of our 18th week. I've felt really good this past week, I hope I am not jinxing myself. Sleep is a little bit of a struggle right now. My hips hurt something terrible so laying on my sides, which is recommended, is quit painful. I've finally regained my love for Chick-Fil-A and Central BBQ. There for a while, the thought of those two restaurants sent me running to the hills. Now I'm excited about both. It's funny because my love for pizza and chicken has only amplified during my pregnancy and so has my pickiness for everything else. I think this little baby is going to be a picky eater just like both it's parents.

And here's what we are looking like today...
About 5 1/2 inches (head to rump) and 7 ounces.

We go this Thursday for our ultrasound to determine boy or girl. I'm feeling really really anxious about this appointment. They will be checking out everything on our little baby. I'm praying that everything looks perfect and healthy. Please say prayers for our little baby!!

1, 2, 3, 4...

5..

Yesterday we celebrated our 5th anniversary! I honestly cannot believe that we have been married that long. I know that to many of you, you are probably thinking that 5 years is nothin'.

Our 5th year will definitely be one to remember. This year we will add to our family of three, (yes I am counting Reecie in the three) we will put our house up for sale, get ready to move back East (yeah yeah!!) and Trav will graduate from dental school. It's going to be a great year. We are ready and cannot wait for what God has in store for us this year.

My family.

18 weeks.
(5 full days until we know what this little love is.)

week 17 and some other stuff

We are making our way to the end of our 17th week! whoop whoop! I am finally starting to feel somewhat better. I am hoping that I am over the hump that a lot of woman say they feel around week 14. That's suppose to be like the glory week when you wake up and you are a different person. Maybe it just took me a little longer but hey, I don't mind. Whatever our little baby love needs me to do to help him/her grow, I will do.

We have 10 days until we know what we are having. Now that we are so close, it's really getting to me. I cannot wait. I am really trying to be patient right now but it's so very hard. Have I mentioned that most of our friends think we are having a boy?! I saw a picture the other day of a mom with her three boys. My heart did a little flip because I instantly thought, "that's going to be me." Well, maybe...

I swear my belly grew a ridiculous amount in about two days. If we would've taken a picture a few days earlier, it would've been smaller. I promise!

A little side note: I got my hair cut this past week. Trav loves short hair and has been asking me to cut it for over a year now. I surprised him the other day, it was just a little early anniversary present. =)

And here is what is our little love looks like today...
About 5 ounces and 5 inches long (head to rump).

I had a date tonight with two very special people....

I love talking to Josie B on the webcam. It takes her about 7 seconds to realize, oh yeah! I can talk to KeKe on here!! Once I talk to her for a few seconds and act silly, she knows it's really me. Tonight we talked about her going out on the lake, Papaw's new boat (it's a jet ski but she calls it a boat), we sang a few songs, talked about who is a boy and who is a girl, we high-fived in celebration of her using the big girl potty and we even shared a few sweet kisses through the screen! I miss these two like you wouldn't believe.

And here is a great verse I am concentrating on for the next few months. Our preacher actually used this verse this morning in his lesson. There are more times than not that I think He is talking directly to me.

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34

16 going on 17

We are 16 weeks and will be 17 weeks on Wednesday! We went to our doctor last Friday for our normal check-up and everything went great! We didn't have an ultrasound but we did hear the little love's heartbeat. It was a strong 155. We are scheduled for our next appointment on Thursday, July 28 and this one is the big one! We will find out whether this little love is a boy or girl. We.cannot.wait!!!

Isn't it funny how different clothes can make you look??

To me, I just look "thick" in this picture.

Now this one on the other hand. Yep! You sure can tell that something is going on...

As of 16 weeks, our baby is the size of an avocado. 4.5 inches long (head to rump) and 3.5 ounces. So much is going on right now that it is incredible to think about. Truly amazing.

Here's what he/she looks like today...
