{My last post was written about 2 hours before we headed to the hospital not knowing that we were about to meet our little man.}
Last Tuesday night, we were hanging out at home and I was blogging about being 38 weeks pregnant. Trav and I were watching tv when I started having sharp cramps. I didn't think they were contractions because they were constant. Everyone said that contractions would come and go and you can time them and so on and so on. Well mine came and never left! We waited around hoping I would feel better but after about 30 minutes plus and talking to the on call doctor we decided to head to the hospital. Just to be safe. It was sometime after 9:00pm when we loaded up and made our way to Methodist Hospital. Neither of us thought that this was the night. We had just been to the doctor the day before and nothing much had changed since our last appointment.
Once we arrived at the hospital, we signed in and were waiting to be taken back. We waited about 10 minutes. All the while I was having terrible cramps. They called my name and as we were walking back to a room my water broke!
I honestly cannot tell you what went through my mind at that moment. I remember being so excited and scared to death all in an instant.
I won't go into any of the labor details. We had a pretty normal delivery. It wasn't terribly long which I am so grateful for.
Our little man came into the world Wednesday, December 14 at 11:26am.
(Our lives were forever changed at that very moment.)
He came out kicking and screaming, literally!
He weighed 7lbs 9oz and was 21 inches.
And if you ask Travis, he will tell you he has a 13 inch chest...
We have tons of pictures but I'm only going to share some of my favorites. Being a new Mommy doesn't allow me much time to blog. I also am very aware that I have Mommy brain so please excuse any grammatical errors and run on sentences... I'm typing very quickly while my little man sleeps! =)
Our first family photo.
I knew Travis was going to be a great father but I honestly didn't know how truly amazing he could really be. His love for his son is a beautiful thing to see. I cannot explain in words how wonderful he is to me and Asher! Just a side note: He's officially changed more diapers then me!
I've never known a love so great.

Asher with his Dad, Poppy and Papaw.
Trav's dad, Asher's Poppy, is holding Asher. Travis was born with dark hair and it slowly turned blonde. My mother-in-law sent me some baby pictures of Travis. He and Asher look like twins. It's the sweetest thing. I will share those pictures soon..
Now do you see why my little man has dark hair?

My amazing parents. They stayed with us for a week after Asher was born. Our fridge has never been so full and my heart has never been so happy. They helped us out so much our first week! We would've been lost without their help. I am blessed to have the best parents in the world. Yes, mine are the best, not yours. =)
Papaw and GJ love Asher

Nana and Poppy love their new grandson!!
I am so glad that my sister was here to meet Asher on his birthday! She has been such a huge help throughout my pregnancy. I always went to her with questions. She's super Mom and I want to be just like her.
We are HOME.
