31 weeks...

This week has been great!! Week 31 started with me relaxing while on fall break, all week! I thoroughly enjoyed my week off. At the beginning of the week, you couldn't get me out of Asher's room. I was organizing, rearranging, day dreaming, hanging up clothes, making things and the list goes on and on. I love going into his room. It's my happy place.

All though I love my time off, I am ready to get back to school. It makes the weeks go by so much faster and at this point I am wanting to fast forward a few weeks.. is that such a bad thing? =)

At the moment, Asher loves pushing on my right side and pushing against my ribs. I love feeling him move around but when he roots in this spot I try to rub him down a little bit. My ribs thank me.

As of yesterday, we were exactly 2 months away from his due date. Neither of us think that he will make it to his due date. I cannot wait to see when he chooses to come into this world. I'm struggling being patient at the moment. I am trying not to go crazy thinking about it. I want to see him, hold him, kiss him, and squeeze him. My constant prayer is for him to keep growing inside my belly and for me to remain patient and enjoy his sweet kicks.

Happy 31 weeks!!

What Asher looks like today:
About 3.3 lbs and over 16 inches.

scrapbook...

At my shower in Kingston a few weeks ago, one of my very best friends gave me such a special gift.

A scrapbook for Asher.

Lauren and I met in the 2nd grade and have been friends no sisters ever since. We have so many crazy memories together it would take us days to tell them all. Some we will never share with anyone else... =)

She told me she was making one of my presents and I'm not going to lie, I was a little scared. Especially after she sent me a picture of her fingers glued together. I had no clue what she was making but I was excited.

At my shower, she gave me a scrapbook for Asher. Lauren and her Mom, Paula who is like my second Momma, made Asher his very first scrapbook. I didn't really look through it much at the shower because after looking at the first page my eyes started to water.

I am in love with it and cannot wait to fill it full of pictures of my little man!!

They did several pages to get me started. They both wrote me a message in the front and back of the book. Their words made my eyes water even more...

On the first page:
Lauren printed the words from my post announcing that we are pregnant, added our first "preggo" picture and some ultrasounds.

The next several pages:
All of my baby bump pictures, so far.
I cannot wait to show Asher these pictures and tell him, "this is you when you were growing in Mommy's belly!"

Pages announcing that we are having a BOY!
Lauren printed the words from my post and some pictures of the night we told our friends!

Shower Love:
Then the next couple of pages are for pictures of our wonderful showers! She added pictures from our little surprise shower given to Julie and I from our sweet friend, Courtney, pictures from our Memphis shower...

And these pages are ready to be filled with pictures from our shower in Kingston. She added the invitation and I'm so glad because I love that little piece of paper. It fits my personality perfectly.

Here are some of the pages they made and are ready for me to cover with Asher!

These pages will be filled with his sweet face as soon as he is born.

Ready to be filled with sweet pictures of our little man.

His "first" pictures. Pictures of his first bath, first tooth, etc.

His monthly pictures will cover these pages.

They also made pages for his first Halloween, Thanksgiving, Birthday and Christmas. Just to name a few.

Thank you Lauren and Paula for taking the time to put together this special gift. I love every page because you made every page with love for Asher. I cannot wait to fill all of the pages.
I will show Asher this book and will keep it forever. I love you two very much!

30 weeks...

Our 10 week countdown is officially on! Yes, we are now counting down instead of up. Crazy feeling..

Week 30 has been a good and tiring week. After a great weekend in East TN we rolled back into Memphis around 7:00 Sunday night. I was exhausted on Monday morning and it took me several days to catch up and feel half-way normal again. It was all worth it though. I can definitely tell that I am in my third trimester. I get tired at the drop of a hat and walking around at school wears me out. Everything is getting a little more difficult. I am so ready to meet our little man it's not even funny. We are now going to the doctor every 2 weeks. We had a check-up yesterday and everything looked good. I still get little butterflies whenever I hear his heart beating. His heart rate was strong and he is growing and so is my belly.

I've been making a lot of things for Asher's room. It's coming along and I'm so excited about how everything is turning out. I know I've said several times that I will post pictures of his room. I will, I just want to get it almost finished before I post anything.

Happy 30 weeks!!
(Please excuse my pajama pants! I had already slipped into something comfy when I realized tonight that we are going to be 31 weeks tomorrow and didn't have a 30 week photo!)

Here is what Asher looks like today:
About 15.7 inches and almost 3lbs

29 weeks...

Welcome back world of sleepless nights! Yep, they are back. I had a few good weeks of easy comfortable sleep but the past week and a half I've gone back to aching hips and restless nights. I am exhausted everyday and am counting down the hours until I get to crawl back in my bed each night.

Asher is still a wild man. He moves around so much. My Mom and Dad were both able to feel him while I was at home this past weekend. Mom is a softy and was grossed out by all of his rolling around in my belly. =) She said it used to make her sick to her stomach when she felt Summer and I moving around in her belly.

Happy 29 weeks! (we are actually 30 weeks today!)

Check out what my belly looked like 9 weeks ago...

Same shirt, different belly.

Here is what Asher looks like today:
About 2.5 lbs and 15 inches long

P.S.
Our good friends, Julie and Charles, had their sweet little girl yesterday!!
Kate was 6 lbs 10 oz and 19 inches
We headed to the hospital last night to meet the new addition to our group and she is perfect! Julie looked too good to have just had a baby. I only hope to look so good...

sneak peak...

On Saturday, Travis and I had maternity pictures taken.
We met Ashley Wade early in the morning, before our baby shower, to take some pictures at South West Point in Kingston. It was a foggy morning and we were afraid that the fog was not going to lift in time. Towards the end of our session, the sun starting shining a little and the fog started lifting!

A little side note: If you are in the East Tennessee area and are in need of some amazing pictures, give Ashley a call. She is wonderful. She made Trav and I, who are not the world's best models, feel very comfortable in front of the camera!

Here are a few of the pictures I've seen so far.... I cannot wait to see the rest and share them with you.

Ashley- thank you thank you!! You took wonderful pictures and I cannot wait to show Asher these pictures one day. We cannot wait to see the rest... =)

memphis shower

Last weekend we celebrated our upcoming bundle of joy with some of our closest friends in Memphis. Travis and I have met wonderful people while living in Memphis. These past 3.5 years have been great because of the friends we have made. I know without a doubt that we will remain close friends even when we all go our separate ways here in a few short months.

The Trammells hosted a joint shower at their house and it was perfect. All of our Memphis friends were there and the love for Asher and Kate was overflowing.

Lauren got crafty and made these wreaths. You will be seeing mine hanging on Asher's door.

Delicious food and pretty, too!

Julie and I let the boys have all the fun! They opened every present. At first I think they were kinda hesitant but I believe they really enjoyed it...

Some of the guests.

Julie, Charles and Kate (in her belly).
Kate will be here any day!!

JB and Audrey
These two have shown us ways we want to raise our children without even knowing it.

Being silly with our bellys. You can hardly see skinny minny Courtney behind our growing bellys.

Most of the girls.

Kyle and Myself

The McShans

I'm so glad that Summer and Mike came to town to celebrate with us. They got the chance to meet all the people we talk about and love in Memphis. We loved having them in Memphis for the weekend. I miss seeing my sister like crazy!! We hung out all weekend and had some much needed sister time!

Claire and Emily, dental school friends. Thanks girls for celebrating with us!

Brent with the Trammells (our wonderful hosts).

Crossville's finest.

Asher's Aunt Sum!

Audrey, Courtney and Kirsten.

Trav told me to hold up a #1, I thought everyone was making a silly face. Oh well..

Much better!

To all of our friends, thank you so much for a great night and all of the sweet things for Asher! He is such a lucky little boy. We will never let him forget how much he is loved. Thanks for being our "family" of friends. We love every one of you.

week 28...

YAY!!! We are at the end of week 28 and officially in our third trimester! If Asher makes it until his due date then we only have 12 weeks to do. Holy moly is all I can say.

We had an appointment last week and everything checked out great. His heart rate was 155 and my belly measured 28 weeks. While at the doctor, his head was on the left side. Our doctor said that everything looked great! We go back in 2 weeks and then we start our every 2 week appointments. I cannot believe that we are so close to meeting our little man.

Asher moves around all day long. He moves around more then kicks. If you watch my belly you can see him moving from one side to the other or just pushing on it. Trav loves feeling him. We laughed so hard at Asher last night because while Trav had his hand on my belly and was trying to talk, Asher kept moving. Every time Trav tried to finish his story Asher would start moving around again. It was like he knew exactly what he was doing...

Happy 28 weeks!

What he looks like today:
He is about 2 and a quarter pounds and 14.8 inches long.

We were showered with love this past weekend. Our friends, Chip and Lauren, threw us and the Puryears an amazing shower. All of our Memphis friends came. I will post about about the shower soon.
