great day for a hike

...Until your child decides to run straight into a holly bush… Yep, my son.  We met our cousins and some friends at a trail in Oak Ridge this weekend.  Asher was in heaven.  Josie, Charlie and Lily were ready to roam around and run the trails.  My child wanted to take a nice slow stroll, touch every leaf, eat a little dirt, find the perfect walking stick and test out a holly bush.  Oh the adventures of Asher man.

Cars in tow, ready to go!

The great outdoors is the perfect place for a little wrestling match.

Carson was so good and quiet that I almost forgot he was there.

Charlie is obsessed with his Momma.

Asher found a walking stick.  What's so funny about Asher getting a walking stick is that whenever Trav is out hiking, he always finds one too!  Like father like son.

We were all enjoying the amazing weather and just hanging out when my Dude decided to walk right through a holly bush.  Didn't bother him.

I tried and tried to convince him to come out but he just kept on babbling a bunch of gibberish and showing me berries.

This is why I love my friends, they let me borrow their husbands when mine isn't there.  {Trav had a minor surgery and stayed at home with Maeve.  She took care of him while we were out.}  Nick didn't think a thing about it and walked right into the bush and swept Asher up.  Thanks Uncle Nick!

We were out on the trails for about two hours and Josie just couldn't hold it any longer.  Hey, when you gotta go, you gotta go.

Asher wasn't happy when Mommy said it was time to go.  He took off running and laughing.  Another reason I love my friends.  When my child is being a total nutball, what do they do?  Laugh and take photos.  Aren't they the best?

Happy Hump Day!

watch out david beckham

A few weeks ago, Asher and I were playing in the playroom.  Out of nowhere he started kicking a ball around like he was playing soccer.  I have no clue how he knew how to do that, we've never watched soccer and at the time he didn't even have a soccer ball.  He and I had a little donut date the other day and then we made a quick trip to Target.  We bought one thing… a soccer ball.

Looks like a natural.

Watch out David Beckham!

much needed vitamin d

We actually got to play outside at the park this week, what??  It was sunny and in the 50s.  Not super warm but warm enough.  We went to the park to play with Josie and Charlie.

These two running like crazy.

Josie climbed up on everything possible.  She's part monkey.

Besides Asher, this is my favorite boy.

"oh wow!"

Slide time!

Ok, I really didn't want to post this next picture.  But I knew if I didn't I would hear about it from my parents.  My wild child kept fake falling on the ground and eating, yes eating, dirt and grass.  I really don't understand him these days.

And this is Papaw.. Laughing at the kid eating the ground.

A few days later the sun was still hanging around so we spent more time outdoors.  While Asher was at school, Maeve and I met Lauren and Carson at the trail.  We planned on walking but it was extremely windy by the river so we took a quick stroll and then headed to eat lunch.

These two.  Looking like big kids.

Sister was so excited to be facing forward.  When did she get so big??

Once we picked up brother from school, we came home and played outside.  I sat B on a blanket and snapped some cute pictures of her.  But our time outside was short because wild man decided it was fun to take off sprinting towards the road.  Not cool dude, not cool.

And just for fun, look at these two.  This was Asher around Maeve's age.

{I think they have the same eyes, which are their Daddy's.}

quickly changing

Our sweet girl is changing so quickly..

We were out shopping the other day and it was time for her to have a bottle.  I propped it up on a toy or two and she held it herself.  She had a bottle and I continued shopping.  Win win.

Slowly but surely she's starting to enjoy tummy time.  It's still not her preferred way to play but she doesn't cry the entire time.

B loves getting out and about.  We are ready for spring so we can spend more time outside playing.  Her little body is getting so strong and she can loves being held and learning about the world around her.

B now takes her bath with Brother.  Boy do they love being together.  She watches him like a hawk and he splashes her with water.  We get two baths done in no time so we enjoy this change, too.

Snug as a bug.

yet another snow day

Good gosh, this is our 100th snow day of 2014.  This snow was huge compared to the previous but very short lived.  The snow was gorgeous..  Luckily for us {hahaha, not}, Asher decided to wake up at 6:30 this morning so we got to see the snow in all its glory.  I snuck outside really quick and snapped a few pictures.

Snow on the rail on our back patio and on the back of Trav's truck.  Not sure why I didn't take a ruler out to measure but I didn't.  We had about 5-7 inches.

This little boy kept looking out the window at all of the white stuff.

After a little begging, GJ and Papaw came over.  Travis went to work so he couldn't play in the snow today.  My parents came over so that one could stay inside with Maeve while Asher and I went out for a little bit.

Aren't they just lovely?

We wrapped Miss B up and took her outside to snap a quick photo.  Her first big snow!!

Ok mother nature.  We get it, you are a snow lover.  We all love a good snow every now an then but can we move on to spring now??  Please and thank you.
