maeve at seven months

I feel like I start every monthly blog post with "Maeve, how can you be {insert month} old?"  But that's truly how I feel.  Each month when I sit down to write her post it hits like a ton of bricks.  She's growing up too fast and will be one before we know it.  I know, she still has a few more months but seriously, she's growing so fast.

Maeve, you have the sweetest little personality.  You are so fun to play with.  You have the cutest belly laugh when something is really funny.  The one person who can always make you laugh, is brother.  You watch his every move.

You are kinda starting to enjoy food, a little.  We've switched up your eating routine.  We think a few foods upset your stomach so we've started trying new foods at lunch and doing oatmeal cereal at night. It seems to be working much better.  Your favorite foods are bananas and pears.  Everything else you act like it is super sour and terrible.  You will normally eat it all but you act like it's torture.  Drama Momma!  You take four bottles a day.  I'm about to introduce you to a sippy cup with some juice.  I gave you some puffs the other day {cut into teeny tiny pieces} and you weren't so sure about their texture.  We will keep trying.

You are still a little on the lazy side.  You've probably rolled over a total of five times.  You could care less.  You are perfectly content chilling on the floor, laying on your back.  Your back is still your preferred way to play.  You are sitting up very well though.  Your little back literally became strong over night.  You tend to slouch forward sometimes, I guess it's because your head is a little on the large side, but you rarely fall over.

You have found your voice and when you decide to talk you talk loud and proud.  You have recently started making a grunting noise.  It's a lot like the sound your brother used to make.  Why your Daddy and I make such crazy kids, I'll never know.  You have found your tongue and love to make noises with it.  Your mouth fascinates you these days.  You've also learned to pinch.  You and Asher will be playing and I'll hear, "ouuuu".  You like to give him a little pinch every once in a while.  He's been very good and hasn't done anything back to you….yet!

You are one of the chunkiest girls I've ever seen.  Well besides your Aunt Summy.  Now, she was huge. {hahah!!}  But we are all in love with your little rolls.  I think they are perfect and you make them very stylish.  You were size 9 month pants, they are sometimes a little long but we roll at the waist.  Your tops are anywhere from 6-12 months.  All depends on the brand.  You have found your head bands and try to pull them off while riding in the car.  You are still a great car rider and we are thankful for that.

Your sleeping has changed lately.  You still sleep through the night, most nights 7:30-7:30/8:00.  We've been trying to keep you up till 8:00.  You nap two sometimes three times a day.  It all depends on how long each nap is.  On days that we stay at home, you are down every two hours.  You sleep anywhere from 1 hour to 3 hours.  Never know.  If we are out and about then you snooze whenever we are in the car and then when we get home.

And guess what you got this month????  TWO TEETH.  Yay!!  Big girl.  We went to your six month appointment and Dr. Lin pointed out that your two bottom teeth were close to coming through.  Literally the next morning your left one was out.  It took the right one a few more days but now they are both out.  You struggled a little, nothing terrible but we could tell you just weren't yourself.  You had a few restless nights and some grumpy days.  I pray that your teeth don't give you any trouble.

We sure do love your sweet self!

bed bugs

Weekends are what I live for.  I love it when Trav is home and we all four get in the bed to cuddle in the morning.  It's not often that we get to do that because normally one sleeps later than the other.  But this past weekend everyone slept in and we all woke up sometime after 8:00.  Both babies crawled in bed with us sans clothes and we just enjoyed hanging out for a while.

I know I'm a little obsessed with taking pictures of my kids but they are changing so fast that I don't want to miss a thing.  We'd all been in the bed for a while before I went and grabbed my camera..

You can tell this boy loves his sister.

These two.

Bite?  Kiss??

Kiss!

Trav snapped this picture.  No one is looking at the camera but it's probably my favorite picture of us in a while.  The two that grew in my belly now sitting on my lap.  God is amazing.

obsessed much?

Asher man is one hundred percent infatuated with cars.  His love for cars is so strong it's almost scary.  He takes a car with him everywhere he goes.  He eats, sleeps, breaths cars.  I'm not exaggerating.

Most nights he goes to bed with one or two cars.  Some mornings they are still in the bed with him and others they have fallen out.  The other morning I went in to get him out of bed and he was saying, "caaar, caaar".  He was pointing to one that was laying in front of his bed.  We grabbed that one and then he went to the back of his crib and said, "caaar, caaar".  I looked behind his crib and this is what I saw..

Lots of cars!  When I moved his crib from the wall and he spotted all of his cars he said, "oohh yeah!"  He was pumped.  So I made it my goal that day to snap pictures of him playing with his cars.  Y'all he literally never put a car down.  I knew he always had them in his hands but until I really watched him I didn't realize the insanity of it.

Two cars while eating breakfast.

Putting his milk in the refrigerator with his cars.

As much as he likes to take his cars everywhere, driving them around this couch is by far his favorite.  I cannot tell you how many laps he's made around this couch.  At least 100 a day, no lie.  Beware if you try to sit on this couch, your body might get used a track or you might get whacked in the head by a car {Papaw}.  Everyone else, consider yourself warned.

He uses his body as a track sometimes, too.

The other night Travis and I were laying in bed talking.  I rolled over to go to sleep and was jammed in the back.  Guess what was in our bed…

Yep!  A dang car.  Asher randomly will climb up in our bed to play.  I guess this day he decided to leave us a little treat.

Rearranging furniture is bound to happen to find the perfect driving spot.

Letting "Ree" outside cannot be done without the assistance of a car, of course.

This boy has been attached to my hip lately and will hang out with me while I'm getting ready in the bathroom.  He actually hopped in the shower with me the other day, that's a whole-nother post though. Crazy kid.

So I think it's safe to say that Asher is a boy with a heart for cars.  It's so amazing to me that he had never seen us play with any type of car before.  He got some matchbox cars for his first birthday.  I waited a few months before giving them to him because I thought he was too young.  From the moment his hands touched those cars, they've never put them down.  And the crazier part, his Nana says that Travis used to do the exact same thing.

a little fancy

The other day I was digging through Maeve's closet looking for her something to wear.  Even if we have no where to go, I always like putting cute clothes on her.  I found this little ruffly, lacy romper get up hanging in there.  A friend had given me lots of her cute girl clothes while I was pregnant with Maeve.  I had forgotten about this little gem.  {This outfits are normally not my style but hey, it's worth trying on..}  I put it on her and oh my goodness, how stinkin cute!!  I mean really.  All I could do was laugh.  It was precious and totally crazy all at the same time.

This girl is not ashamed of her rolls.  Pretty and proud!

I sent this picture to my parents and my clever Dad asked if she was wearing a loofa.  Men.

Of course Brother had to get in on the action, like always.  He never wants his picture taken unless I'm snapping one of B.

And then it got ugly.

Happy almost Friday.

playset fun

{picture overload ahead..}

Who says you can't celebrate Christmas in March??  Our present to the kids was a playset and we got it this weekend.  We are all pretty much in love with it.

Asher's reaction was priceless.  He said "gahhhh" and ran right to it.  He went straight up the steps and flew down the slide.

Mommy's turn to slide!  That's the best part, our playset is big enough, durable and strong enough that we can join in on the fun.  That was the main thing we wanted when looking for the perfect set.  We wanted something that would last a long long time and would also hold us.  We don't want to just watch our kiddos play, we want to play with them.

The slide is a little tricky, it's super fast.

The very first time Asher went down he smacked his face on the ground.  Didn't seem to bother him because he bounced right up and went down 100 more times.  But he did flop on the ground every single time.

Every boy needs a tire swing.

A few days later, our cousins came over to play and boy did we have fun!!

Papaw and his girls.

First time in the swing and she loved it!

These boys love their silly Papaw.
