maeve at three months.

{See her boot falling off her foot?  Awesome.}

Pretty girl.  You are three months old!!  Seriously, how can that be?  Everyone said that time flies by even faster with the second child and I didn't believe them.  They were right.  In a blink you have changed so much.  You just celebrated your first Thanksgiving and soon your first Christmas.  Our holidays just got a little sweeter..

Your eyes are starting get look more and more like Daddy's.  Your neck is getting much stronger.  You love looking around when we are holding you.  Your hair is still a little wild.

You are still the sweetest baby alive.  You rarely ever fuss.  When you do you are pretty easy to calm down.  You are pretty easy to please and are low maintenance.  Thank you for that.  You feed five times a day.  Two of those feedings are bottles.  You don't seem to mind formula at all.  You drink 6 oz at a time.

We think you are going to have a personality very similar to your brothers.  He was {still is} all smiles. You smile all the time, too.  You have found your voice and love talking to us.  About two weeks ago you decided to drop your middle of the night feeding.  You are awesome.  You are sound asleep by 8:45-9:00 every night and are up anywhere between 7:30-8:30.  AWESOME.  We just stopped swaddling you a few nights ago and you don't seem to mind.  You are still sleeping 11-12 hours.  We swaddle your bottom half but leave your arms out and you love it.  You take 3-4 naps a day.  Your first and third naps are short, about 45 minutes.  Your second {middle of the day} nap is long.  It's a few hours.  It's still at the same time as brothers and I so enjoy this quiet time.

You are starting to hold your head up.  You don't like to do it for a long time but you're getting better.  Tummy time has never been your favorite past time.  You still get pretty mad when we first put you in your car seat but within a few minutes you are ok.  You're a great little shopping buddy because you still sleep most of the time while we are out and about.

Keep growing girlfriend.  We sure do love you.

a few firsts.

Where do I begin??  We've had a few weeks of firsts lately..

Asher had his first public meltdown and was kindly escorted out of a restaurant by me.  When I look back, it was partially my fault.  Fail number one.. Asher is always exhausted on Wednesday nights.  He's been to school two days in a row.  Fail number two..Before dinner, we went walking with Lauren and Carson.  So he was couped up in his stroller for about an hour or more.  Fail three..He doesn't really like sitting in a high chair (at restaurants) anymore.  We let him sit in a booster seat by his friends.   He wanted to get up and walk around, he was too interested in playing with his friends, etc..  He got upset because he wasn't getting his way and ended up melting down.  I carried him out like a football as he kicked and screamed the entire way.  Fun times.  At first I was mortified and completely embarrassed.  After he and I took a few laps on the sidewalk outside we both calmed down and I just had to laugh.  Every single Mom has been there or will be there.  Every child has their moments.  Mine had his.  It will not be his first or his last.  Till next time..

Asher decided at breakfast one morning to shove Cheerios up his nose.  Travis saw one and got it out but didn't notice that there was another in his other nostril.  A few minutes later he was playing and messing with his nose.  He was crying and Trav saw a Cheerio booger..  Nice.

Our life has never been so wonderfully crazy!!

what a difference.

What a difference five months can make.  I took the top picture on Asher's first day of Mother's Day Out back in June.

This picture was taken in November.

How has he changed so much in such a short period of time?

finally.

This girl is finally enjoying tummy time and lifting her head up!!  Brother loves to talk to her while she strengthens her neck..

23 months.

Asher Riley!!  You are one month away from being two.  Yes, I said ONE.  How.is.that.possible??  I'm sad to say that you have officially started acting like a two year old.  Not going to say "terrible two" because I don't like that phrase.  I'm just going to say that you are acting two.  You have mostly good days but you do like to throw a fit every now and then.

You have a mind of your own and are so independent.  It's scary how independent you are.  You still love playing in your play area.  Just today you played in there for about 2 hours!  No lie.  You have so many toys in there you hardly get bored..

You are trying really hard to talk.  You try and repeat almost everything I ask you to say.. You say car plain as day.  Banana and yellow kinda sound the same but the way you say them are precious.  You say yes and no, hi, bye bye, daddy, re for Reecie, bee for Maeve, GJ, two, you, gone, down, done, ee for ear.  I know I'm forgetting.  You say moo, meow, woof woof, can make monkey noises.  You know where your ears, eyes, nose, belly, feet and teeth are.  You chomp your teeth together for teeth.  You say "I love you" by touching your eye, heart and pointing.  There's so much you know and are doing that I cannot think of it all..

While at GJ and Papaw's the other day you discovered Mommy's old NKOTB doll, Danny.  You decided to bring good ol Danny home with us and you play with him often..

You love school.  You walk right in say "hiii" to all of your friends, put your lunchbox in your cubbie, take off your coat, give me a kiss on the mouth and start playing.  You are a pro.  You had your first Halloween party and you helped Mommy make treat bags for all of your friends.

I'm having to limit your tv intake.  You would watch it all day long.

We went to Crossville for your second cousin's, Hunter, birthday party.  You had a blast.  You stayed outside most of the time and rode every electric car/truck they had and even hopped on a horse.  You are extremely brave.  Mommy and Daddy are thinking about getting you a little 4-wheeler soon.  We know you would love one.  The only rule is:  you MUST wear a helmet.  No helmet, no ride.

You love watching for Daddy to come home.. You decided to sit down and watch a little tv one day while hanging out by the window waiting.

Brushing your teeth before bed is now one of your favorite things to do.  You enjoy doing it in the nude!

You are intrigued by your sister's bows.  You love to go in her closet and grab them off their hangers.  It drives Mommy nuts.

You love putting on Mommy's chapstick!

Middle of the day snacks are fun!  You run to the fridge and try your hardest to open the door.  I tell you to go get your tray and you run and grab it.  You always sit in the exact same spot to snack.

Climbing up on Mommy and Daddy's bed is something you really enjoy.  You love tucking yourself in the covers and watching tv or playing on the iPad.

Apples, grapes, bananas are your favorite fruits.  You have become a better eater these past few weeks. You will eat no less than 1,000 grapes a week.

You had the "fifth disease" last week while Daddy was away in Missouri hunting. Fun!  Your little cheeks were as red as could be.  You are fine now.  Thank goodness..

You are our favorite boy in the entire universe.  We have no clue where you came from and cannot believe you are going to be two!

making blog private

Hi all.  I've made the decision to make our blog private.  My reason for blogging is to keep a scrapbook of our family.  We have so much going on and I don't want to forget a thing.  I would love for you to continue to keep up with our family and watch our babies grow.  If you would like to continue to read our blog, please send me an email and I'll add your name so that you have access.

2 month stats {maeve}

Big girl.  You had your two month check last week {on Halloween}.  You weigh 10lbs {50 percentile} so you've gained about 4lbs over the past two months.  You are over 21inches {75 percentile} so you've grown about an inch.  Everything checked out great and you are still perfect.

You didn't mind stretching out and wiggling around on the table before  your shots.  It was a different story afterwards.  You were super brave.  Of course you cried, cried, cried but once Mommy picked you up and loved all over you you were ok and quickly fell asleep in my arms while we waited for the 10 minute check.

You and I had a little shopping fun at Target after your appointment.  We both deserved it.

You were fussier than normal the rest of the day/night but were pretty much back to your normal happy self by the next afternoon.

halloween night.

We had so much fun at our Halloween party that we couldn't wait until the actual holiday.  Before heading to my sister's house, we stopped by our neighbors and a few friend's houses.  I didn't know what Asher would think about his football pads and me putting black marks on his face, but he was a total trooper!

Ready to say, "trick or treat!"

Josie, Charlie and Asher had a great time going from house to house and digging into baskets finding the perfect treat.

What a great night!!  Since this year, our first real Halloween experience, was such a success I think we will go all out next year.
