"i've been everywhere man, i've been everywhere"

Hartford, Connecticut
Buffalo, New York
Turks and Caicos
Savannah, Georgia
just to name a few....

So, my parents are retired (my dad is semi-retired) and they are loving life!

Over the past ten months they have been traveling everywhere.

Back in September, they took a trip up north.

They started in Hartford, Connecticut. They then made their way to Niagra Falls, in Buffalo, New York.

Beautiful picture. Niagra Falls.

Isn't he the cutest? I absolutely love my Dad!

Next....

In Maine, they stopped to get a picture of the most photographed lighthouse. Another amazing picture.

On to....

There they saw a replica of the Mayflower.

And then back to Connecticut to go to the Mystic Seaport. He's just a little too tall.

In March, during Spring Break, my parents joined some of the Cutcliffe Crew and Mamaw on a vacation to Turks and Caicos. They spent about 5 days there and enjoyed every minute of it. Summer and I did not enjoy our time spent in the Tennessee without our parents. They had absolutely no phone service and we could not talk to them the entire time they were there. Summer sees Mom and Dad a lot during the week and I talk to my parents daily. We were very happy to hear their voices when they landed safely back in the States. We are glad they had a good time, though! =)

My cutie pie parents.

I think he likes it, don't you?

The slides brought out the kid in Dad.

My Uncle David and Aunt Karen with my parents. Living the good life.

Love them.

The whole gang.

The last week of March, my Mom and Mamaw went to Savannah, Georgia. They are both Paula Deen fans and thought it would be fun to go to her restaurant. This was Mamaw's Christmas present from my parents. They stayed for several days and took in all of the sites around downtown. Each time I talked to Mom, while on their trip, they were always laughing and telling a story about something. I know they had a blast.

Back in April, my dad went on a mini-man vacation. He joined my Uncle David and two other guys on a weekend fishing trip. They went to King Fisher Society which is in Laurel Hill, NC.

They ate like kings all weekend long.

By all of the evidence, it looks like my parents are enjoying being retired. Must be nice. Their next trip? Family beach trip, this time we get to tag along. =)

painting galore

I've been doing a little bit of painting lately.

My assistant at school is great! She helps me everyday with whatever I need. I thought it would be cute to paint her a bucket for her desk. My students made a big "Thank You" card and we put it inside her bucket. I think she really liked it. Thanks Patsy for everything!!

While home a few weeks ago, Summer had me paint buckets for Mike's little cousins. They are going to visit them in Pittsburgh over Memorial Day weekend. Aidan and Shane are 4 year old twin boys and their little sister, Kate, is a few months younger than Josie. The boys are hug Steeler fans, hence the Steeler symbol on their buckets. Hope they enjoy them.

A teacher at my school's wife is pregnant with their first little boy. She is due late July. We had them a little shower at school. I made them a bucket with the quote, "Snakes and snails and puppy tails that's what little boys are made of!" written on it. I filled it with some cute little things off of their registry.

My sister's bff, Amy, was having a birthday party for her little boy. Reed just turned 1. I painted him a stool. I got the little monster theme from a tissue box that was in my class. =)

half of a dentist

Hip Hip HOORAY!! The D2s took their last test yesterday and are now officially D3s!! We cannot believe that Travis is half way through with dental school. Time really does fly when you are having the time of your life.

Today was my last day with my class. Today was kinda sad, kinda not. When it gets down to the last day, everyone is tired and ready for summer, summer, summertime.

We have a lot going on this summer and it will be over before we know it.

Last night we celebrated with our Memphis Family. After dinner at Central, the boys went out for a while and the girls watched the season finale of Grey's Anatomy.

Lauren is ready to be a D4!! She will be Dr. Trammell this time next year. =)

All of the Ds.

The "non" Ds.

wanted to share...

...some of the most beautiful pictures!!

About a month ago, the Mattmanns met up with Carrie Curry, owner of ella minnow pea, for a brief photo shoot. Pictures were taken right outside of Carrie's store, which is located in Kingston. Josie is now a model on her blog. =)

I wont continue to ramble on and let you get on to the pictures.

The Mattmanns.

pretty girl.

breath taking.

Two of the most beautiful girls I know.

She loves her Daddy.

I love black and white photos (I am sure you can tell from the previous post...). But I had to show off Josie B's baby blues.

Wish I could see her and kiss her every day.

Look at that smile. Looks like she's up to something.
