big time

We always get the ADA (American Dental Association) NEWS but I never pay much attention to it...until today!

Back in January, Travis was assisting his bud, Kyle (D4), in the lab when he was asked to get in a picture. Delta Dental had just donated $500,000 to UT College of Dentistry for renovations to the dental clinic. They now have a new, state-of-the-art imaging center!

The cover. (Yes, it is a national newspaper!)

i wanna dance with somebody...

at Dental Prom.

Friday night was our second time dancing the night away at Dental Prom. We had a blast the first time around and were excited about going again.

We had dinner with our best buds, the Trammells and the
Puryears, before making our way to the Daisy on Beale Street.

We love dressing up!

Good lookin' group if I must say so myself.

We danced all night. Literally! We had a great time. Travis showed off all of his best moves and stayed on the dance floor most of the night.

busy painting

I've been busy painting lately. It is a lot of fun, like I said before, it's sorta like therapy for me. Here are a few things I've painted within the past month.

This one is for a lady who teaches 1st grade with me. She is going to surprise her daughter-in-law for Mother's Day! Super sweet. Now all it needs is a tiny hand print and a footprint.

For Trav's good friend, Dustin. We are sad that we were not able to go home for their wedding. Hope they like their platter..

A birthday present for our friends, Sam and Jill. They are coming down in June for the McShan-Wechsler wedding. I plan to give this to Miss Lily then.

two thumbs up

My husband and I are smiling from ear to ear right now and absolutely on cloud number 9. As many of you know, he took part 1 of the National Dental Boards on March 25. We've been patiently waiting to receive his scores. He has been checking the mail an insane amount. Today was the day the news came. It read:
Status: PASSED

Of course there was some other information on the paper but this was by far the most important part. We had all intentions to stay in tonight and cook due to our weekend full of eating out with friends but after receiving the good news we couldn't contain ourselves. We went to dinner with the Puryears and Trammells. They too are celebrating!!! Way to go boys! We are extremely proud and grateful that we can all take a deep breath.

two thumbs up

This picture was before the boys headed downtown to meet some fellow classmates for a little celebration and the girls headed back to watch Dancing. Lauren and Julie helped me grade a lot of my papers! They are the best friends I could ask for! This picture didn't turn out very well. We set it up on the back of car in the Central parking lot. =)

chillaxin'

....that was our plan for this weekend...

It seems like we have been crazy busy lately and haven't had time to breath! This was our first weekend home without actual "plans" or traveling. We were pumped.

Friday was a beautiful day so we decided to have a little cook out with our friends. It was our first time hanging out outside on the patio. After a delicious dinner, we decided to get out for some ice cream. Baskin Robbins bound.

Saturday was a great spur of the moment day. We got up, did a little cleaning, and some yard work. Julie had heard about the Spring Market at the Agricenter so we decided to check it out. As usual, when we all get together to go shopping, we shop till we drop, literally. Our feet were killing us by the end of the day. I will say, we did get a lot accomplished. Lauren found a present for a baby shower and we purchased a few wedding gifts. =) The boys ended up going with us to dinner.

It is now Sunday. Service this morning at Fellowship Memphis was amazing. It truly hit home and has my mind in overdrive. On that note, I don't want to spend this beautiful day inside....

Happy Sunday!!

Easter Weekend

We spent the past weekend in East Tennessee. Travis hasn't been home since Christmas. I cannot begin to explain how excited he was to have the chance to head back home and spend some quality time outdoors with his good friend, Sam.

Thursday the two of them spent most of the morning/afternoon hiking the Honey Creek Trail in Allardt, Tennessee. Don't ask, I have never been there nor have I heard of the place! I am glad he was able to "live the good life" as he says. He's worked really hard these past few weeks and deserves a break.

The great outdoors.

Sweet Sam. We heart him.

Big South Fork River.

At the Honey Creek Overlook.

While Travis was soaking up the fresh air, I was running around with Mom, Mamaw Oran, Josie B, and Summer. Josie went to daycare Thursday morning. They called Summer around 10 o'clock and said that she had a fever and was not eating. Sum took her to the doctor and found out she has an ear infection in both ears. Poor little girl. You would think that she would be acting down and sad but not Josie. She enjoyed lunch with us at Pimentos and then played with me the rest of the day. She's such a trooper! (I didn't get any pictures since Trav had my camera.)

Thursday night was Ladies Night! Summer, Amy, Lauren, Hayley, and myself had dinner at Stir Fry. I think we shut the restaurant down. We had a great time catching up. It's not often that we get to hang out without little feet running around.

Love. You.

Amy, Summer, and Hayley.

After dinner, we went back to Summer's. We stayed up past midnight talking and laughing. We raided Josie's Easter basket for some sweet snacks. =)

Friday we spent the day with Travis' family. We had dinner at Cracker Barrel and then drove around Crossville for a little bit. Even though I have been there a million times, I haven't seen very much of the county. It was great driving around and spending time with the Siscos. Again, no camera.

Saturday we spent the day with my family. Everyone except for Eddie and Taylor who were not able to come in from Texas and Marcus who is cheering on the DUKE Blue Devils at the National Championship Game as we speak were not in town. The last time we were all together was Christmas.

Josie B. and Papaw watching Sum and I beat Mike and Travis in several games of pool.

I think this was during the second game. Victory for the girls!

That night everyone came over to Mom and Dad's for pizza. We celebrated three birthdays! Josie B, Mike, and Katie. I was too busy catching up and loving on my family to snap photos.

Sunday morning we all went to church with Mamaw Oran in Harriman. She won for having the most visitors that's for sure!

Lunch at Mamaw's with my Josie B.

Josie and her great-aunt Cindy. Cindy gave Josie the outfit she is wearing. It was perfect for Easter.

Josie loved Ariel. My cousin and his new wife, Molly, just recently got a puppy. She is half-lab half-golden retriever. She is absolutely precious.

Ariel Cutcliffe.

My beautiful sister.

We celebrated Katie's birthday which is next Monday, April 12. She will be 21! Super scary. Love you Kitty Kate.

My family on Easter Sunday. Mike's sister, Mary, was able to come in town. She is keeping Josie for a few days this week. I know she is loving her Josie time.

Happy Easter from the Siscos!
