We've never been huge fans of Valentine's Day. Don't get me wrong, I'll take the chocolate and flowers any day of the week.. but that's just it. I would rather have a little happy gift at random moments instead on one day of the year because it's "just what you do". But this year, I decided we were going to go all out and make a day of it. It was great!!
{asher got a doctor's coat and supplies and maeve got belle in their valentine's day buckets.}
{we then headed over to lauren's house for a valentine's day brunch with friends. thanks geej letting us borrow these super cute decorations.}
{maeve and avett}
{sweet friends}
{after the brunch, sister and I headed home to get ready for our big night! we were each going out on a date... sister wanted "elsa" hair for her special night.}
{our dates arrived and man were they handsome!!}
{my favorite little man brought me a flower. how stinking cute is he? he was so so proud.}
{this is my favorite picture. look at her looking at her daddy. and I love that asher is watching his daddy treat a lady so well, watch closely son.}
{she was so excited to be going out with him. her heart will be forever his.}
{best kisses ever.}
{this guy. lord, i love him. he's a wild and crazy as a they come but his heart is by far the sweetest.}
{enjoying our yummy pizza date while daddy and maeve were down the street eating burgers!}
This year is all about making new traditions. Traditions that my kiddos will never forget and hopefully, one day pass on to their family. So Valentine's Day to me this year was about showing Maeve how a lady should be treated, loved and respected. I hope when she's looking for a man to love, she finds one with many of her Daddy's qualities. And to teach Asher to treat the woman that you love to feel like the luckiest woman alive. To open the door for her, surprise her with little gestures and to give her lots and lots of hugs and kisses! Do that son and you'll never disappoint.
