YAY!!!

I know these blogs are all out of order!! I hadn't been on in a while and was putting a lot on at one time and mixed up the order!

Anyways, I am soo excited! Last Wednesday I received a phone call from the HR department for Shelby Co. Schools...I had an interview with an elementary school on Thursday at 11:00. Mom and I headed down to Memphis that afternoon. Thursday morning I went to the interview and when I left I had a WONDERFUL feeling but I didn't want to get too excited. Later that afternoon, I received another phone call. This time it was asking if I would take the 1st grade position!! YAY!! Of course, I said YES. I still can't believe that I was so lucky to get another 1st grade position. I have been teaching 1st grade for the past 2 years and I LOVE the 1st grade! I can't wait to move down there and get started! =)

Don't Mess with Texas!!

One of my families most favorite things to do: FAMILY VACATIONS!!! We will use any excuse to get together or go somewhere as a family. It doesn't matter that there is 21 of us..we will make it work! This past weekend, we all flew to Austin, Texas for Taylor's high school graduation. We had flights coming from Knoxville, Nashville, Durham, Birmingham, and Memphis! It was a blast being in Texas, I have not been in about 12 years or so. We stayed at Barton Creek Resort and Spa. On Friday night we just hung out and some of us went to dinner at Suzi, a Chinese restaurant. Saturday we went to St. Edward's University for Taylor's graduation. That night we went to County Line for his graduation dinner! Sunday we all flew home! We had a great weekend! =)

Duke's Athletic Tour

The Duke Football program has started a new tradition, The Duke Athletic Football Tour. My uncle, David, will be going around to surrounding areas (Georgia, NC, Tennessee) to promote Duke football. He will do this in the spring to get everyone excited about the upcoming season. They came to Foundry in Knoxville on Thursday, May 15. It was a great night. There was a room full of people eager to hear what he had to say about the Duke football team. It was great to see all of the Knoxville Duke fans come out to support him and the team.

Moms

Travis is very close with his mom! Thanks Judy for being one of our biggest supporters! We appreciate everything you do for us.

My mom is one of my VERY best friends. I love her more and more everyday! Happy Mother's Day Mom!!!

Memorial Day White Water Rafting

Travis is a HUGE fan of the outdoors. Living in Knoxville is not his ideal situation. So, whenever he has the chance to leave the city and enjoy being outside...he does. He has been trying to get me to go white water rafting for a LONG time. I just have never had the urge to hop in a boat and charge down a river...but he finally talked me into it. A group of us loaded up and went over the Memorial Day weekend. The right side of our boat had never been before: Mike, Summer, and me! The left side of our boat had been at least once: Nick, Travis, and Lauren. We had a great time, no one fell over board, no one was scared, and Nick even "rode the bull" at the very end. It was a blast and I can't wait to go again!!
