too fast

Our little man is growing up way too fast.  I honestly feel like he is changing by the minute.  I look at him and wonder where he came from and when did he get so big?!

Here are some recent pictures of our crazy man.

Spoiled!  He loves music.  He was watching "Pontoon", one of our favorite summer songs, while I was cooking.  Hey, whatever works and gets food on the table.

Can someone please come and tell my son that standing in his crib really isn't that fun?  This is his latest trick and he is obsessed!  Four out of the past seven nights, he has woken up at 4:00AM!  He has stood up in crib and talked and fussed for about 10-15 minutes.  Once he was through listening to himself talk, he would lay back down and go to sleep.  Seriously??  Ever since he has figured out how to pull up in his crib, we find him standing after every.single.nap.

What?

Hoodie time!

Kiddo is getting too big for his car seat.  We are about to switch him over to his big boy seat.  Come December 14 he can face forward.  He is going to LOVE that.

We were out and about the other day.  He had on long sleeves and jeans, it was freezing that morning.  My Mom was with us and said he was too hot and stripped his shirt off.  He rode home redneck style..

"I LOVE TO STAND" is what he is thinking here.  You cannot take your eyes off of him for one second.  I did the other day and this is what happened.  Pulled up on our little side table.

Every day gets better and better and is so much fun!  Not sure how I got so lucky.

daddy's crates.. REVISED

{It was brought to my attention that I made a few mistakes on this post.  Correction: my Daddy-O wasn't a fruit delivery guy he was a produce delivery guy.  Potato.. Patato  Correction: I shouldn't thank my Dad for handing over his crates.  I should thank my Momma.  Dad didn't want to pass them along, stingy.  Mom brought them over without him knowing, ha!  My thank you to Dad was just me being a smart ace but my Mom wants the credit.}

So apparently my Dad has some pretty cool treasures hiding in his basement.  While looking on Pinterest one night, I saw a picture of crates used as shelves.  I immediately decided I wanted some.  While talking to my parents one day, I mentioned wanting crates.  My Dad said, "I have some."  What?  Yep, he has old school crates.  Many many many years ago he was a fruit delivery guy.  He later used these crates to move when he married my Mom.  For the past 30 years they have been used to store records.  Now some of them live in my house..

We have a little nook in our living room.  I knew I wanted something tall and slender for this spot.  The crates fit perfectly.  Right now I only have a vase stuck in there..  I'm looking around for other things to throw in there.

The white vase above used to look like this..
{I spray painted it white this past weekend.}

I also have some of his crates in our kitchen.

Thanks Dad for the crates.  I love them.  They look much better in my house than in your dusty old spidery basement..

first fall weekend..

We are going to have a blast this fall, I can already tell.  It became "officially" fall this weekend and we spent a lot of our time outdoors enjoying the perfect weather.

Friday night, Daddy hung our swing from a tree.  It's been living under our porch by the pool but needed a new home.  While Travis did some yard work, Asher Man played in his swing.

Saturday evening we went to Emory's Dedication Service.  We had a mini-photo shoot before we left the house..

I painted her this little cross as a dedication present.

We stopped by Chick-Fil-A on our way home Saturday night.  Little Man was starving and ate like a p-i-g PIG.  There was a group of high school kids, yes I said kids they are.. I am almost 30, sitting a few tables over.  Asher was very interested in them and watched them like a hawk.

Sunday morning started with a wonderful service at our church, Two Rivers.  We are so happy we've found a church we love.  Our good friends, Jack and Julia, have started going to Two Rivers as well.  We love going to church and then lunch with them every Sunday.

After church, we headed to Crossville to go to a Corn Maze/Pumpkin Patch.  Asher is a lover of the outdoors so we knew that he would love it there.  He loved being outside and soaked up everything...

Judy, Sidney and Myself being silly..

The Petting Zoo had a few animals for us to check out.

I'm tellin' ya, this boy loves to swing.  He would've chilled in this swing for an hour if we would've let him.

We tried to snap a few family pictures on the swing.  Asher used to be a camera ham, not so much anymore.  He is too busy now.

Caught loving on Mommy!

Chillaxin'

Sidney had fun sliding and jumping.  Wish I had on jeans, I might have joined her.  Looked like fun.

I caught my boys having some sweet moments together.  These two love each other like crazy.

They look more and more alike..

Travis with his Mom and Asher.

We sat Asher down in front of some hay bales in hopes of getting some cute pictures.  He was too busy playing with the grass to look up at the camera.

He is all boy and is extremely happy when he is outside.  Totally in his element.

We were lucky that the Maze wasn't super busy and we were the only ones on the Hay Ride.  Asher loved loved the ride.  He starred at the tractor and babbled throughout the entire ride.

The wind loves my Son's hair..

We stopped at the Pumpkin Patch and Sid picked out a pumpkin.

On our way to the car, we stopped to snap a photo in front of the Hay-Spider.

This sweet face makes my heart smile.

Asher's first Corn Maze equals success.  He probably wouldn't mind if we went back on a weekly basis.  We might just have to take him back one more time..

Happy Fall Y'all!!

dr. pepper bundt

Y'all, this bundt cake was YUMmy!  So good.  I've decided to start making bundt cakes for birthdays.  Travis picked out the one he wanted for his big day... A Dr. Pepper Bundt.

Whatcha Need:
1 box of chocolate cake mix
2 small boxes of instant chocolate pudding
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 cups Dr. Pepper (divided)
4 eggs
1 cup chocolate chips
4 cups powered sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 stick butter, softened

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Grease bundt pan.

Combine cake mix, puddings, oil, 1 1/4 cup DP and eggs with electric mixer.  Stir in chocolate chips.  Pour batter into pan and bake for 40-45 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

Let cake rest and cool in pan for about 10 minutes.  Place on serving dish.

Make frosting!  Beat butter with powdered sugar, cocoa powder and a few splashes of DP.  Spread on cooled cake.

Enjoy!!

a few randoms..

A few random pictures for your Friday..

Silly face.

This kid loves Dinosaur Train.  He gets so excited whenever it comes on the tube.

Thought this smile was too cute not to share..

Some family came over on Thursday night.  We surprised Travis with a cook-out to celebrate his birthday.  He came home to a house full of family and delicious food.

Asher and Josie helping Trav make a wish.

Friday morning, Asher went to the doctor for his 9 month check-up.

His 9 month stats:
