Reecie's First Walk....

Reecie LOVES to be outside, but the outside does not always love her. She is so little and very sensitive to the heat. We have to be very careful whenever she is outside, normally she can stay out for about 20 minutes but in the Memphis heat it is more like 10! Ever since we moved here, she has been dying to go running around outside, she has been stuck with only our deck. Today the weather was a little cooler than normal, only in the 80s and with a little overcast..tomorrow is suppose to be 100-exciting!!! Trav and I decided to take advantage of the break in the heat and take her for her first walk in Memphis!! (We are lucky to have a walking trail right outside of our apartment. We live on an island. It is crazy but we are surrounded by water. It is weird to think that Arkansas is just across the Mississippi River. It makes for great scenery!!) Anyways, we got Reecie ready to go outside and she was excited and she did great!! We only walked around for a few minutes, just enough for her to get her feel of being outside. As soon as we walked in the door, she hit her water bowl. She is now passed out in my lap as I am typing...she is so spoiled!!!

She wanted to get off the trail and run around in the grass.

RedBirds and Rooftops!

Travis and I watched our first Memphis RedBirds game at Autozone Park last night from an apartment building's rooftop! It was an awesome view and not to mention...free of charge! Even though tickets are only about 12 bucks it was cool to be able to look out over downtown Memphis. It was a great chance for us to see the city. We are going to go to a RedBirds game soon and experience it in the seats...but you have to watch a game at least once from a roof.
We are hoping to go up to the Peabody roof. Everyone says that is definitely a place we need to check out. It is in the background, right behind Autozone Park. =)

Getting Settled....

Even though Travis and I were both very excited about our move, it was tough saying goodbye to our families, great friends, and our first home together! My sister and brother-in-law had us a GREAT "Moving to Memphis" party at their house the Saturday before we headed to Memphis. It was great hanging out with some of our closest friends all at one time. Everyone that I love was there, it was great!! Thanks Sum and Mike. I wanted to take LOTS of pictures but couldn't stop talking to take pictures...=(
Travis and I packed and moved to Memphis on July 14, thanks to my wonderful mom we got our apartment put together in less than 48 hours. She was great!! We headed back to Knoxville and stayed from Wednesday-Saturday. I had to finish up my last Master's class and take Comps (a four hour writing final...yuck!!!) and Travis had some last minute errands. We spent most of Saturday afternoon packing yet another Uhaul!! This time it was only my school stuff. It is crazy how much stuff you can accumulate in just two years of teaching. I am very lucky to have an aunt who previously taught 1st grade and who has past down EVERYTHING to me!! Needless to say, our second Uhaul trailer was full!!!
These last few days, Trav and I have unpacked our apartment and my school things, put together a computer table and a bookshelf, renewed our license, filled out tons of paper work, and much more!!

My amazing family!!

I was so lucky to teach with these wonderful girls!! I miss them!!

Two Years and Counting....

Yesterday, Travis and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary! It is crazy to think about how much has changed in just two years...we started our lives together by living in Knoxville, Travis working in Oak Ridge and me teaching in Kingston. Now we are living in Memphis, Travis going to UT-Memphis to pursue a career in dentistry and me just finishing my Master's Degree and now teaching in Millington!!! Wow! What a wonderful two years.
Last year for our first anniversary we headed to the Biltmore Estate and drove through the Blue Ridge Parkway. This year we celebrated by eating left over pizza and watching several episodes of Friends...while putting together our new bookshelf in our new home. =)

Stopping for a picture on the Blue Ridge Parkway! Our 1st anniversary.

Don't look....

Travis surprised me by singing Conway Twitty's "Lay You Down" at our reception. When we were dating, he would always goof around on his guitar and sing that song to me...I never thought he would perform in front of an audience!! =)

I am so blessed....

Just a few of our many engagement pictures. Thank you Amy Tejeda for the beautiful pictures (wedding and engagement).

Family Vacation in Destin, Florida!

Every year, my mom's side of the family heads to Destin, Fl for our family vacation. And each year our group continues to grow!! This year there were 19 of us plus TD (the Cut's new dog). It was great spending time with everyone right before Trav and I move. This year's vaca was like our last fling before everyone's official move..us to Memphis and Karen, David, and Em to Durham, NC. We had a blast on the beach, going out to dinner, playing volleyball, flag football, and putt-putt. We are an active group!
