Y'all, I cannot believe I'm actually writing this post. I'm still in shock that I ran a half-marathon. It was the one of best things I've ever done! And the hardest thing I've ever done. Lauren and I have been training for the last few months. Our longest run was 10 miles about twelve days before the big day.
{before! noelle is a huge runner and decided a few weeks before to join us.}
I was so nervous and anxious that morning but once we got there and going I was just pumped to be doing it! Like normal, it took a few miles to get into a good steady groove. There were little rolling hills all throughout the course. Around mile 4-5 we had a huge hill.. that was probably the only time the three of us weren't talking. We couldn't talk and take that hill at the same time. Trav cannot believe we talk the whole time but we cannot imagine not talking. It's perfect girl time.
{at mile 7 and then again at mile 9 we saw my crazy family cheering us on.}
{if you cannot tell i was pumped to see them.}
{seeing these signs and watching their faces light up and smile so so big made it worth it. those smiling faces and yelling voices pushed me and gave me the energy i needed to keep going!}
To be honest, when we hit mile 11 it got hard. Our bodies started to ache... every where!! We were all about to die but we were determined to not stop. Not even for a second.
{nick and carson were right before the finish line! that was a great little push to help us finish!}
We did it!!!! Crossing that finish line was amazing!! I want to do it again! I cannot wait to do it again! Even though every inch of me hurt, my knee-caps felt like they were going to explode and my body ached for two solid days, I want to do it all over again!
{my number one cheerleader through my entire journey of becoming of runner!}
{love my family coming to cheer us on}
{lauren's cheering crew!}
{13.1 boom}
{so excited to do it together! 2 hours and 16 minutes of running! no stops.}
