tis the season for great friends...

It was great to see a lot of our friends over the past week. Monday, December 22 we went out with my teacher girls and their husbands/boyfriends. We went to the Copper Cellar on the strip. I miss seeing those girls everyday so I loved that night! We talked about everything and my face hurt the next day from laughing so hard! Friday, December 26 we met up with some friends at the Turkey Creek Calhouns. We rented out one of the back rooms and had a blast catching up! We are very lucky to have such wonderful friends. We were able to spend sometime with Travis's Crossville buddies over Christmas but for some reason we didn't get the camera out..I am mad at myself. We went to Sam and Jill's for a Christmas party. We played Dirty Santa and Catch Phrase, which both were hilarious! I went and got Catch Phrase the next day for us to play with our families over the break.

"Travis got married, Travis got married...."

Travis has been finished with his school for about two weeks now.  I have been asking him to come see me at school and meet my kids.  So today he finally made his way to my school (he wanted to come visit everyday but I said no..ha).  After lunch, I told my class that Travis was going to come and see them today.  I talk about him and use his name as examples a lot so they know who "Travis" is and they were PUMPED to find out that they were finally going to meet the MR.  =)
He came to school about an hour before dismissal and they were quiet watching The Grinch...once one of them noticed that he was sitting in the back of the room the exciting news started spreading like wild fire!  They were so excited to finally meet him.  They kept saying, "Travis got married, Travis got married..."  They had been asking me, "When's he going to be your boyfriend??"  Six year olds don't really understand the order of adult relationships!!  =)
It was good for him to see and meet all the wonderful and crazy little people I talk about nonstop!  He hears numerous stories a day.  For instance, the one day one of my little boys walked up to a Kindergarten girl on the playground and said, "Wuz up baby?!"  Gotta love teaching.  All in all, Travis's visit made their day and mine, too!!  Thanks Love for being amazing and coming to spend time with me and my 17 kids!

Road to the Dome...

Last Saturday, December 13, my family headed to ATL to cheer on the Flowery Branch Falcons.  My uncle Mike is a defensive coach for the football team.  They were playing for the 4-A State Championship at the Georgia Dome.  They were beaten by about two touchdowns but it was still a great accomplishment!  Way to go Mike and Falcons!!!  (Travis didn't get to join us, he was hunting with family.)

The road to the Dome!

1 down, 7 more to go...

Travis has 1 semester down and 7 more to go!!  His last par test was last Wednesday.  We meet up with some of his D1 buddies that night at the Saucer to celebrate.  Good times were had!
I must say, he is much more relaxed.  This weekend he had some well deserved hunting time with his dad, uncles, and cousins.  Hunting is by far his favorite thing to do (besides spending time with me....ha).  Anyways, we are glad to have 1 of the hardest semesters over.  I am not looking forward to next semester...he will be taking Gross Anatomy.  Can't wait!!  =)

Thank You Australia...

I have always liked Hugh Jackman and his many many movies.  Travis and I are HUGE X-Men fans.  We have all 3 and watch them often.  This weekend, Kendall and I went and watched his newest flick, Australia, and I fell in love again!  Our husbands were at home studying their lives away.  It was great to get out the house for a few hours.  Ok, back to Hugh...It was a wonderful movie, the perfect mix of a love story, action, and drama.  Hugh and Nicole were amazing together.  Thank you Australia for giving us Hugh and Nicole...and you can't forget about Nicole's man, Keith!!!!  =)
